The gold coating of a standard polycarbonate track-etched membranes provides a conductive surface, avoiding charging of the filter and sample when examining them in an electron microscopic. The filter provides a smooth flat surface for good visibility of particles. Gold coated polycarbonate membranes are coated on both sides, resulting in increased filter stability and high contrast in SEM. They meet requirements of regulatory bodies such as ISO 14966 or VDI 3492.
